AT&T upgraded the capacity of nearly 170 cell sites in South Florida that will improve the performance of voice and data connectivity, the company announced Wednesday.
Since the start of the year, AT&T has made capacity upgrades to more than 450 cell sites in South Florida, and activated a cell site in Sunrise. The additional capacity makes it possible for the cell sites to accommodate more traffic, which helps improve the performance of mobile Internet data and voice connectivity for AT&T customers.
Customers in the following areas will see the capacity increase:
Miami-Dade County: North Miami Beach, Aventura, Miami Beach, West Miami, Kendall, Pinecrest, Pembroke Park, Miami Shores, Doral, Miami, Coral Gables, Cutler Ridge, and Key Biscayne.
Broward County: Hollywood, Hallandale, Weston, Davie, Hallandale Beach, Pembroke Pines, Miramar, Tamarac, Deerfield Beach, Pompano Beach, Sunrise, Fort Lauderdale, and Plantation.
Palm Beach County: Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Boynton Beach, Lake Worth, West Palm Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, and Jupiter.
Also, AT&T is now operating on a Distributed Antenna System inside the AmericanAirlines Arena to provide additional wireless coverage and capacity for customers throughout the Miami facility.
